Our Culture of Inclusion
SPG Therapy & Education’s culture of inclusion statement is meant to reflect the team SPG is today and strives to be tomorrow. It is the foundation for future key initiatives, which are necessary to attain an inclusive workforce and culture.
SPG Together
“Inclusion is not bringing people into what already exists; it is making a new space, a better space for everyone.” ~ George Dei
SPG Therapy & Education’s mission is to Empower Remarkable Change Together. “Together” includes all aspects of us: race, culture, background, ability, identity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and any way of being. We celebrate originality, neurodiversity, uniqueness, and everyone’s “you-ness” because we believe it builds a stronger and better SPG. As a multidisciplinary organization, we are committed to a culture that values and champions that representation across identities, experiences, and perspectives.
We strive to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce. Are we there yet? No. But the commitment is real. The need is great. With focus, we believe progress and remarkable change are possible. We are committed to this journey because a diverse and inclusive “together” is not only the right future but a better one.

Culture of Inclusion Goals
Our Ongoing Areas of Focus:
Culture and Community
Giving Back
Education
Providing Opportunity
Diversifying our Team
We have set the following goals in place and are committed to providing transparency and consistent updates on our progress:
- ) Enhance our culture of inclusion within the organization by offering relevant resources and professional development opportunities aligned with Our Philosophy. SPG Therapy & Education will engage the community by offering relevant topics, programs, and/or professional development opportunities throughout the school year.
- ) Gather annual employee feedback related to SPG’s Culture of Inclusion, through surveys, focus groups, or other feedback tools.
- ) Implement multiple initiatives to support employees in advancing their professional career pathways within SPG.
- ) Expand inclusive recruitment and career outreach by posting jobs on specialized boards across disciplines, creating diverse career pathway materials, and piloting high school outreach with tailored resources to inspire underrepresented talent.
Recent Highlights on Our Progress Toward These Goals:
Culture & Community: Employee Experience & Connection
We held our first Town Hall meeting, where we welcomed feedback, questions, and ideas. This is one way we aim to share the work, elevate diverse voices, and provide support to those who want to get involved.
Education: Opportunities for Professional Learning
In 2025, we offered over 120 professional development events to districts and 12 to the public. Of those offered, 72% of district-facing PD and 91% of public-facing PD were relevant to our philosophy. Although we don’t choose topics for districts, our PD menu continually adds options that honor cultural and linguistic diversity, affirm identity, maintain ethical standards, and promote social justice.
Providing Opportunity: Empowerment Programs, Scholarships & Career Pathways
We have more applicants and awardees than ever for our Empowerment Program Scholarship. 59 scholarships were recently granted to SPG Therapy & Education employees pursuing further education for career growth.
Diversifying our Team: Recruitment Efforts
We have added a number of new members to our recruitment team to enable greater sourcing and inclusive recruitment.
Giving Back: Philanthropy & Volunteerism
SPG Therapy & Education recently partnered with CSHA as a sponsor for the Early Intervention Summit at Sacramento State University. Several of our early intervention team members spoke to the benefits of EI and caregiver training.
